There’s a few versions of Sims 2: Castaway for different consoles. But even though Sims is usually for PC or some of the better graphic consoles, the DS version looks pretty good. Even though the other consoles focus on a collection and management of several villagers. But the DS version focuses mainly on minigames and one villager. Mini games may sound dumb for Sims 2. But you will find that they help after you win them. They teach you skills for survival while playing as the villager. Just like the story on the other consoles, you’re a castaway who washed up on an uncharted island.

Smarty Pants has some Mii integration. And the profiles of your players will carry some granular information about your performance are bound to different Miis. And though their implementation in the version of Smarty Pants was somewhat plain. And it’s a third-party game, which is nice to see for Wii. Smarty Pants has good fast paced trivia with a little physicality thrown in. Smarty Pants also has a good family mode or cooperative mode.

Mario Party DS is for well Nintendo DS. The game is due for release sometimes during this month. A short story that is at the front of the game is that Bowser and his no good son told Mario and the gang (plus Wario!) that he made tasty treats and they have to come to his castle to get them. But instead of snacks they get shrunk. Tiny Mario (or someone else) tiny console. Get it (It’s not funny I know.)? So the whole time you are playing a variety of minigames and rolling dice and all taht good stuff just to get shrunk by Bowser Jr. and Bowser.

The Mortal Kombat franchise has made it to pretty much every platform imaginable over the years. So it is obvious that it is long overdue for appearance on the Nintendo DS. While Mortal Kombat 3 for DS doesn’t make use of the DS touch screen you can play with other players. So Mortal Kombat let’s you do multiplayer using Wi-Fi. You can play with other players locally or online with people from all over the world. Mortal Kombat 3 offers the 19 fighters from the original title.

And it has 3 unlockable characters which means a total of 22 characters to play as.

It wold not be a Hannah Montana (HM) game without a nod to the star in the story line. Of course in Hannah Montana: Music Jam you either play as Miley Stewart or her other side pop sensation Hannah Montana. As the game unfolds and you get further into it you will have to take on another rising pop singer, Savannah Star. And you will have to take on Savannah in a music jam video contest. And to add to that problem Miley’s friends are being stolen away by a popular new girl in school. It will probably seem like a girls work is never done.

To develop your skills in Hannah Montana: Music Jam, the game will actually let you play guitar, bass and drums (possibly more).

Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicle for Wii can be played with the Nunchuk in the left hand and the Wii remote in the right hand. But it’s best played with the plastic gun peripheral. This molded piece of plastic holds the Wii remote in the gun barrel and the Nunchuk where the handle is. Sure this solution sound very simple but it works well. And you have a surprising amount of control at your fingertips. You aim by moving the gun and fire with the trigger. Kinda like real life. But what else should you expect from the Wii.

And you can pick up items using the C button, change weapons using the D-pad and to reload you shake the gun.

The release for Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn in North America is less than a month away. The difference between the English version and the japanese version is that the English has a 16:9 support which is a good bonus for those with the necessary hardware to play games with wide screen. And the Fir Emblem games are known for their strong character-driven narratives. When you start Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn you will be able to choose from three difficulty levels, but the hardest will be locked the first time you play. That might be disappointing for those who have beaten the past Fir Emblem games but you can still do the middle difficulty level. For those who aren’t familiar with this turn-based strategy game, Fire Emblem distinguishing itself from the competition with a number of key features.

Perhaps the most obvious fact in Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn is that if someone dies they’re dead. If he/she was an important character the game over screen will show but if he/she presence isn’t strictly needed

Scheduled for release in November, Game Party for Nintendo Wii is a collection of seven different social games from all over the world. Of course since the platform is Wii you’ll use the Wii remote to preform similar actions like in real life. The seven games include; darts, air hockey, shuffleboard, hoop shot, skill ball, trivia challenge and ping cup. Some games in Game Party can have up to four players while others only support two players. Most games are turn-based also as you play the game you earn tickets, just like at a carnival (or an arcade). You can use the tickets to unlock characters there is over 100. Air hockey may take a little time to get used to. Instead of player from your players perspective, you view the whole table.

While air hockey is gonna take some getting used to, darts is one of the harder games. You throw the darts and aim for the highest score like real life. You hold down the A button aim pull back your hand with the Wii remote and throw forward releasing the A button.

Ever wonder who might win foot race between Mario and Sonic the hedgehog? Or a triple-jump competition between Peach and Tails, or how bout a hammer-throw contest with Bowser vs Dr.Eggman? The only way you can find out the answer is with Mario and Sonic: Olympic Games for Nintendo Wii. You can play with up to four players and you use the Wii remote and nunchuk. Not to mention to new Olympic games, archery and 110mm hurdles. The archery will probably be a break from all the fast paced action. You hold the nunchuk straight out in front of you and press the A and B buttons on the Wii remote.

By pressing the A and B buttons is like pinching the arrow on the string. It’s pretty much like holding a real bow and arrow.

As a rhythm game a good deal of your time will be spent in Hannah Montana: Spotlight World Tour. Where you will be on stage guiding Hannah Montana through her choreography while she belts out her hits for an assembled crowd. Hannah’s moves are controlled with the Wii remote and the nunchuk. Depending on your level of self-consciousness there should be enough moves to keep you entertained throughout the whole song. A virtual Hannah moves and grooves on the top part of the screen but icons move horizontally on the lower part of the screen.

Each color coded icon stands for a different move you need to do.
