Hot Pixel has a Wario Ware Like gameplay, except the gameplay options include: story mode which tasks you with playing through ten themed chapters, a theater mode which let’s you pick and choose the minigames you want to play individually and a playlist mode which let’s you create iPod-style “smart” playlist of the best levels that you’re best at or need practice. A big part of the minigames is figuring out what you’re supposed to do the first time you play. One of the boss levels are based on a classic arcade game. One a breakout-style game played on the side of a skyscraper an colorful organic-looking Asteroid clones.
The thing that impressed me most about Hot Pixel on occasion was undoubtedly
it’s sense of style. Since it effortlessly combines quite realistic-looking street locations and such with pixel-based graphics that have a very deliberate retro look at them. Also another neat thing about Hot Pixel is the sounds. The game will ship iTunes-style software for your PSP. That can be used to format and arrange any music and video files on your memory stick.
