Before our very detailed video games were around, video games were just pixels. Positions in the right spot to look like things and people. Before Nintendo became a very successful game company, it produced card games and such all over Japan. In the 1970’s a joystick like control was made. It held some of the arcade classics such as Asteroids. Then came your video game machine at the arcades all around Japan. And the stars of the first arcade machine were of course Nintendo’s mascot Mario along with Donkey Kong and Mario’s girlfriend Princess Peach. You have three lives and you have to get to the top of a slanted platform to save your girlfriend from a big ape AKA Donkey Kong.
And here’s the reason the mustached mascot has a giant nose and a mustache.
With only a pocket full of pixels a nose would be very noticeable but under a giant nose you couldn’t fit or see a mouth so it was decided to be a mustache. And over time Mario became popular then after his glorious time was over video games were starting to become more popular. And later on after Nintendo came to America more and more video game companies were being built and the graphics went from pockets of pixels to realistic. And still getting better. Nintendo and Sony paired up to create a very successful gaming system after the NES gaming system. But a fight came between the two companies and now all are rivals for creating the best gaming system. Nintendo’s latest gaming system known as the Nintendo Wii is best on my list for now.
