This game will carry on the legacy of Microsoft’s Train Simulator. But Rail Simulator is more improved then Train Simulator. For instance, the game has enhanced editing tools for serious hobbyists looking to build their own railway empires. Rail Simulator will offer numerous scenarios that feature international locales and train or varying levels of technology. From steam powered trains to diesel and electric ones. The scenarios themselves will take place throughout different times in history.

The scenarios will carry objectives such as delivering loads of coal to different stops. Which requires you to make trips between various stations at a time. The missions will be set at varying levels of control for your trains. If nothing else players will be able to dig up their custom built map files and e-mail them to each other.
